Pitchfork Music Festival

Pitchfork Music Festival

Do you hear that calling? It’s Union Park in Chicago telling you to come to Pitchfork Music Festival 2012. A weekend full of music is what follows, with names such as Feist, Vampire Weekend, Danny Brown, Sleigh Bells, Grimes, Beach House, AraabMuzik, A$AP Rocky, Hot Chip, etc. This festival has an act that will satisfy everyone. Let me tell you a bit more about these bands though.

Feist, she recently performed in our own Ann Arbor during the Summer Festival concert series. This girl has pipes that will make you shiver.

Vampire Weekend, do you like african drums? How about we take some preppy rock and add african beats to it. The ivy league cats of Vampire Weekend will rock you to the core and make you dance your shoes off.

Danny Brown, our Detroit native will tell us all about growing up. His flow is powerful, and his rhymes are clever. He’s not afraid of saying what’s on his mind.

Sleigh Bells, who were previously interviewed by iSPY, will bring gritty rock power to the festival. With hearthshaking riffs, that will get your inner Nirvana fan out.

Grimes, do you want to see a girl that can sample herself, play keys, and program a drum machine all at the same time? Check out Grimes, who has been getting a lot of buzz recently. Even Gucci has her eyes on her!

Beach House, do you like to dream? Do you like pop music? How about we take both of those and we jam to Beach House’s dream pop melodies. Their latest album, Bloom, was recently released and has been rocking my iPhone constantly. Defitenely not a band to miss.

AraabMuzik + MPC = hip hop bliss. This cat violently and smoothly attacks the MPC, creating beats on the spot. If you missed him at Movement Detroit, you can catch him now. It was hard to lift my jaw when I saw him perform earlier this summer.

A$AP Rocky, this Harlem native is ready to show the crowd what’s up. With catchy hip hop lines, and a heavy southern rap influence on his production.

That’s just some of the artists, that Pitchfork will feature. So come down to Union Park in Chicago, July 13-15! You won’t regret it.
