6.21.12 Sonic Lunch // Mitch Ryder

Mitch-Ryder_600x606

Take three…and…SONIC! On the menu: pub-style dishes from Conor O’Neill’s complemented with RoosRoast beverages and a live performance by Mitch Ryder. The legendary artist has lunch with Ann Arbor in Liberty Plaza this Thursday 12-1:30pm, as part of Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch free summer concert series. Classic 60s hits, like “Devil in a Blue Dress”, “Sock it to me” and “Jenny Take a Ride!”, elevated Mitch Ryder into the surreal world of rock and roll fame.  His autobiography Devils & Blue Dresses: My Wild Ride as a Rock and Roll Legend, reflects upon Ryder’s decades of experience in the music world.

The evening following his Sonic Lunch performance, The Ypsilanti District Library will host a discussion and book signing with Mitch Ryder and 107one’s Martin Bandyke as well as an audience Q&A.

So come on out and say hello tomorrow and enjoy some good tunes and good food. Party starts at noon.

Talib Kweli @ the Blind Pig [Review]

Not since Mac Miller performed back in December of 2010 have I seen the Blind Pig so full of life. It helped that it was a sold out show – when you get Talib Kweli at a venue the size of the Pig, holding capacity becomes moot...
