Following his headlining festival appearances at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco this month, more dates have been set for deadmau5’s massive North American Meowingtons Hax tour. Due to high demand, tickets for a second night at the Fillmore in Detroit on October 21 are currently on sale.
Named after his mischievous cat Professor Meowingtons, the Meowingtons Hax tour is a huge trek for deadmau5 through the U.S. and Canada, encompassing more than 35 shows including multiple sold-out nights in markets such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Montreal, New York, Boston and Chicago. Support acts Excision, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero and Zedd will appear on various dates of the tour. Performer SOFI, who is the vocalist for “Sofi Needs A Ladder” and “One Trick Pony” from his current Billboard Top 200 album 4×4=12, will join deadmau5 during his set on all dates.
The Meowingtons Hax tour officially launched August 7 at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where deadmau5 was an official 20th Anniversary festival headliner along with Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse and My Morning Jacket. USA Today noted deadmau5 “…symbolized the festival’s transition into a hotbed for electronic dance music,” (Piet Levy, 8/8/11) while SPIN.com touted his set the best of Lollapalooza!
