Looking for any excuse to start a dance party, iSPY will be celebrating its one year anniversary on Saturday June 25 at Necto Nightclub’s recently renovated Red Room that includes new floors, bathrooms and a separate entrance from the Necto.
Spinning the 21 and up crowd into oblivion will be DJ x10sive, DJ Nxt Lvl and the infamous DJ Meph. Doors will open at 9 p.m. with global house, electronic and dance music filling the speakers and drink specials all night long.
The one year anniversary celebration will officially kick off a new monthly event that will take place at the Necto Nightclub’s Red Room every fourth Saturday of the month called Stereo Love Saturdays.
“We wanted to create a fun atmosphere, and all we could think about was throwing the best dance party in town,” said Kayla Mitchell, Director of Events for iSPY.
iSPY magazine launched in June 2010 and has since nearly doubled in circulation, with web traffic tripling since January 2011. In 12 months, publisher Tim Adkins has successfully turned iSPY into one of the most recognizable media outlets in Washtenaw County—and with the launch of iSPY’s newest feature, Living Local, the awareness will only continue to increase. Living Local offers readers the chance to cash in on discounts for local businesses such as Real Seafood Company, Beezy’s Café, The Chop House and the Corner Brewery—to name a few— by purchasing gift cards at half price.
In addition to being Washtenaw County’s place to go for the latest in events and entertainment, iSPY regularly features interviews with high profile artists who are scheduled to visit the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti or greater Detroit area. Past interviews include Sleigh Bells, Yeasayer, Manchester Orchestra, Fatboy Slim, David Bazan, Brett Dennen, Chris Bathgate, Frontier Ruckus and more. iSPY’s mission is for readers to experience the best in music, food and events—all with a local feel.
