Super Bowl Sunday is quickly approaching, and no matter what team you’re rooting for, a win on either side is a victory for the EMU Eagles.

Two former Eastern Michigan standouts will be competing for a Super Bowl ring this Sunday—Green Bay offensive lineman, T.J. Lang, and Pittsburgh quarterback, Charlie Batch.

This season marked Batch’s thirteenth NFL season, in which he played in three games with the Steelers, two of which he started, and posted a record of 2-1. He was recognized this year by being inducted into the EMU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Lang, in his second year with the Packers, saw some action in the NFC championship game, going up against Chicago Bears Pro Bowler Julius Peppers, and is making an impact in Green Bay.

All together, the MAC has 15 players competing in this year’s Super Bowl—second only to the SEC with 18 players.

So, tomorrow when you’re eating pizza and rooting on your favorite team, take a second to be proud of your EMU Eagles.
